Befriending Service

Do you know of someone (50yrs+) who may benefit from our Befriending Service?
Our Befriending project provides a regular visitor to help relieve social isolation and reduce loneliness by providing the company of a volunteer befriender who will visit on a weekly basis for a chat and cup of tea, maybe play a board game or go for a walk.
If you would like to refer someone for befriending or would like more details; please contact us: please note we cannot accept referrals without the referee’s permission.
‘It’s so lovely to see Sarah every week we’ve become good friends and always find something to laugh about’
Could you spare an hour a week to make a difference to someone’s life? We are always in need of more befrienders and would love to hear from you.
‘I find it good for the soul to volunteer, to do a few small things in life without personal gain, simply sparing time for a chat can make such a difference to someone who’s feeling lonely’.
Our volunteers have a DBS (police) check and are given an induction and on-going support from the Volunteer Centre.
